The Charabanc Theatre Company played a major role in Northern Ireland's theatrical renaissance during the 1980s. Charabanc was formed by five out-of-work Belfast actresses (Marie Jones, Maureen Macaulay, Eleanor Methven, Carol Moore, Brenda Winter) who first collected stories and then collaborated in writing and performing highly original plays for enthusiastic audiences. From 1983 to 1995, the company toured twenty-tour productions extensively throughout Ireland and the world, spreading their own particular brand of exuberant, dark humour. The four plays in this collection - "Now You're Talking" (1985), "Gold in the Streets" (1986), "The Girls in the Big Picture" (1986), and "Somewhere Over the Balcony" (1987) - represent the creative high point of the company. These entertaining plays show the broad range of the company's work: portraits of urban and rural women; early, mid-, and late twentieth century settings, and various social, religious, historical political, or personal relatio..

Coriolanus: The Shooting Script (Newmarket Shooting Script)

A feared and revered military commander courts tragedy when he enters the political arena in Coriolanus, a driving action/drama that marks the directorial debut of the film's star, two-time Academy Award®-nominee Ralph Fiennes. Working from an adapted screenplay by award-winning writer John Logan, Fiennes takes a bracingly modern and naturalistic approach to Shakespeare, delivering a story that speaks strongly to our own polarized, volatile times. Updating William Shakespeare's late-period tragedy of ancient Roman setting to the 21st-century of guerrilla insurgencies, instant polling, and 24-hour news networks, Fiennes delivers a trenchant tale of honor, power, politics, and pride. Joining Fiennes onscreen is an exciting, impressive, and international cast that includes Gerard Butler, Brian Cox, Oscar® winner Vanessa Redgrave, Jessica Chastain, John Kani, James Nesbitt, Paul Jesson, Lubna Azabal, and Ashraf Barhom. ..

Cyxork 7 – Screenplay

WHAT THE CRITICS SAY ABOUT THE MOVIE CYXORK 7:Part comedy, part social commentary and part two fingers up to the Hollywood machine. Funny, refreshingly original and a damn fine script. “Cyxork 7” is certainly at the top of my 'must see' list of movies. DARREN REA, EDITOR, SCI-FI-ONLINE MAGAZINE [U.K.]What's really impressive is the sheer amount of comedy they packed into “Cyxork 7.” All in all, a freaking wow!! It’s a beautiful little package containing just about everything you could ask for from a movie. STEVE ANDERSON, FILM THREAT Huff’s Hollywood hatful of hate is smart, daring, and as acerbic as a retired film critic. A wonderful cast perfectly in tune with his tirade, and a subtext that suggests the chew ‘em up and spit ‘em out aspects of celebrity, “Cyxork 7” is something quite unexpected. When star Ray Wise goes into full smarm mode, he makes Bruce Campbell’s clueless chutzpah look like chinbone child’s play. BILL GIBRON, POPMATTERSThis parody of Hollywo..
